TotalEnergies and Veolia are joining forces to accelerate biomethane production

On February 2, TotalEnergies and Veolia signed an agreement to recover biomethane from Veolia’s waste-processing facilities and wastewater treatment plants in more than 15 countries, and to invest together in these projects.

The objective: to produce, from organic waste, 1.5 terawatt hours (TWh) of biomethane per year by 2025 – this is the equivalent of the average annual consumption of natural gas by 500,000 inhabitants – and thus prevent the emission of 200,000 tonnes of CO2 every year.
