Tech Firms Face Sanction Over Failure to Register Under PSE Regulation

The Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) is set to enforce sanctions for foreign and domestic digital technology platforms that fail to register themselves as PSE or electronic system provider starting from Thursday, July 21. Sanctions that will be handed out
range from the first phase warning in the form of a written warning, which means the government will not immediately block unregistered companies.

Director General of Information and Communications Applications Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan clarified that the government connection blockage for corporations that fail to register passed the deadline will only be temporary. Digital electronic system providers, according to the Kominfo, will automatically be excluded from its blocker machine once they register themselves.
