According to the latest Le Monde estimate, Emmanuel Macron, won this presidential election with 58.5% of the vote. Marine Le Pen, candidate for the Rassemblement national, obtained 41.5% of the vote. Abstention reached 28.2% according to the first estimates, a record abstention for the last fifty years.

The creation of a status of “résidence de repli” in France will allow French nationals living abroad to return to the country at any time.
