Covid-19 Vaccination for Foreigners in Jakarta Started, Using Sinopharm Vaccines

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Covid-19 vaccination for foreign nationals (foreigners) in Jakarta begins today (24/8). DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the DKI government was cooperating with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry or Kadin.

“This afternoon, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is collaborating with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together to reach out to the international community who work in Jakarta,” he said at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

Anies said that the vaccination for expatriates or foreign workers uses the Sinopharm vaccine. This program is a mutual cooperation vaccination that is paid for by the company where the foreigner works.

According to him, the company must pay Rp 700.000 per vaccine. Foreigners then register to get a vaccination schedule. For now, the vaccination is taking place at the Pola Building, Jakarta City Hall.

“Socialization has been carried out for a week for this activity,” he said. Anies said that the Covid-19 vaccination could target a thousand foreigners working in Jakarta. So far, there are 356 people who have registered.
