22 Bio EUR Energy Bill to Compensate for Inflation

Faced with rising energy prices, the French government has planned to spend around 22 billion euros on measures to support purchasing power, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire said.

The European Union is indeed in a delicate position since it is 40% dependent on Russian gas supplies. If France is less concerned, with less than 20% of its gas coming from Russia, energy promises to be a critical issue in the coming months. European countries are also currently discussing with the United States whether to ban imports of Russian oil, in order to deal a further blow to this economy already excluded from banking and trade exchanges.
