The 9th conference of the Paris Forum

Paris Forum brought together G20 creditors, borrowing countries, international financial institutions and NGOs to address the financing challenges of low-income countries

The Paris Forum on July 8 brought together G20 creditors, borrowing countries, international financial institutions and NGOs to discuss debt issues to address the financing challenges of low-income countries. On the occasion of this 9th conference, the Paris Forum welcomed South Africa as a prospective member of the Paris Club, which will strengthen work with emerging economies.

Participants highlighted the growing indebtedness of developing countries and stressed the need for better cooperation between all stakeholders. Paris Club creditors have also decided to increase the transparency of its procedures by publishing guidelines for debtor countries wishing to engage with discussions in debt treatment the Paris Club.
