Signing of a memorandum of understanding between I2EN and BRIN

Formed in 2019 by President Joko Widodo, BRIN is the government agency in charge of research and innovation in Indonesia. It integrates, among others, the former Indonesian nuclear structures such as BATAN and BPPT. For its part, the I2EN is a consortium of 14 partners and 38 associate members serving the French nuclear industry in terms of scientific, technical and professional training.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Dr. Edy Giri Rachman Putra, Director General of Human Resources for Science and Technology, in the presence of BRIN President and CEO, Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, and Karen Daifuku, Director of the I2EN.

This agreement confirms the good dynamics between the two institutions which notably met in Paris on June 29, 2022 on the sidelines of the 12th meeting of Franco-Indonesian cooperation . This protocol will promote and strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and France in the fields of civil nuclear education and training. Indeed, many activities could be further developed, in particular with French academic establishments in order to welcome master’s and doctoral students, as well as to strengthen research collaborations.
