Macron Announces Vast Renewable Energy Plan

On a visit to Belfort Emmanuel Macron announced the plan to build six EPR 2 nuclear reactor by 2050. These EPR 2 will be supplemented by small modular reactors and produces less waste, with the objective of 25 GW of new nuclear capacity.

Macron also announced the objective of providing France with around fifty offshore wind farms to target 40 gigawatts in service by 2050. In order to double the production from renewable electric energies by 2030, he also called for multiplying by nearly ten the installed power of solar energy to exceed 10 gigawatts.
