The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency Suharso Monoarfa who also serves as Chair of the G20 Development Ministerial Meeting (DMM) emphasized the importance of multilateralism that is more inclusive and optimal to harmonize collective action from G20 countries. The commitment to multilateralism or reinvigorating multilateralism is also important to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mainly through blended finance or mixed financing.
The G20 DMM became the culmination of the implementation of the Development Working Group (DWG) Meetings in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bali. DWG is one of the working groups of the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency which aims to discuss development issues in developing countries, least developed countries (LDC) and archipelagic countries (Small Island Developing States / SIDS). A number of development focuses were discussed at the G20 DMM, including accelerating the achievement of sustainable development targets or SDGs, expanding the scale of innovative financing, namely blended finance, increasing productivity and competitiveness of MSMEs, optimizing adaptive social protection, to economic transformation by implementing a green economy and a blue economy through development. low-carbon and climate-resilient development.
