This presidency was marked by the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. In order to build a European response, several summits, formal and informal ministerial meetings have been organized in France, Brussels and Luxembourg. The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron notably brought together the Heads of State and Government of the European Union in Versailles on 10 and 11 March during a summit which made it possible to adopt sanctions against the Russia and to coordinate, as Europeans, on a common response.
With more than 400 events organized in France and more than 2,000 meetings of European officials, the French presidency enabled, in an exceptional context of war in Ukraine, concrete progress with 130 texts adopted on subjects priority policies for a Europe that is more sovereign, more social, greener and closer to its citizens.
